Center for Life Management (CLM) provides the area’s most comprehensive array of outpatient mental health services for adults and elders. Our multi-disciplined treatment team works with individuals ages 18+ who experience severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. We use a variety of evidence-based practices to treat our clients, one of which is Supported Employment (SE). SE is an approach to vocational rehabilitation that emphasizes helping individuals find, obtain, and thrive in competitive, community-based employment opportunities. SE also assists clients in their pursuit of education for career achievement and advancement. The SE Team Leader oversees clinical and administrative functions of the Supported Employment Team as well as provides supportive counseling, motivational interviewing, and specialized skills training to support clients with their personal employment and educational goals. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position.
Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties

Demonstrate leadership skills and support the continued development and implementation of Supported Employment by:
- Coordinating and providing department specific new hire orientation and ongoing training opportunities for team;
- Supervising documentation completed by SE staff and provide corrective feedback/supervisory support as needed;
- Provide formal, regularly scheduled supervision and accessible support as needed to assigned staff;
- Provide ongoing feedback on performance and complete formal performance reviews;
- Working in conjunction with the Director of Community Support Services to ensure that service delivery is efficient and effective by developing methods to meet desired client outcomes, productivity, and budget variances;
- Organizing and co-facilitating team meetings;
- Promoting a positive work environment and culture that fosters cooperation, teamwork, professional growth and development to benefit CLM staff, clients, families, and community partners;
Ensure self and team members:
- Provide weekly and/or biweekly individual and/or group SE services in a variety of settings including the client’s home, public, or remote via telehealth;
- Use motivational interviewing strategies to foster personal goal development, behavior change and use of coping skills;
- Keep track of and engage clients in the process of outcome measures;
- Provide Crisis Intervention (CI) when clients experience acute exacerbation of symptoms to ensure their safety within the home and/or community;
- Work collaboratively with clients, natural supports, employers, educators, and team members to ensure services are in alignment with the SE program;
- Adhere to and uphold the General Organization Index and Fidelity Scales specific to SE to support the authenticity of program implementation;
- Provide timely documentation on each service delivered;
- Engage in appropriate consultation meetings and committees, both internally and externally, as determined by supervisor;
- Function professionally and in a manner that protects the integrity, confidentiality and rights of all clients;
- Execute all required services and documentation in accordance with agency policies and federal/state standards;
- Maintain professional memberships, licenses, accreditation, certifications, etc.;
- Adhere to CLM’s Code of Conduct and professional ethics;
- Represent CLM in a professional and appropriate manner in all settings;
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Four years of full-time clinical experience required;
- Experience working with co-occurring disorders preferred;
- Experience with motivational interviewing preferred;
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in routine, urgent, and emergent clinical situations;
- Proficient computer skills, specifically with all Microsoft office applications;
- Ability to document effectively and efficiently in course of clinical work;
- Ability to navigate an electronic health record;
- Ability and desire to work as part of a clinical team while also able to be self-directed and motivated with minimal supervision;
- Ability to acquire and effectively practice new clinical skills as needed according to evolving agency needs/services;
- Effective communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The work will be performed in the office, in the clients home, out in the community and/or remote via telehealth. Manual dexterity is needed to use computers. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is required. Reliable internet access, transportation, a clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance coverage is required.
