We are contacting you about some important updates regarding local, statewide and national crisis response resources. You may have or will hear significant publicity regarding the implementation of the National 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline being available starting July 16, 2022. We want to provide clarification on what this means for our local, regional and statewide crisis response resources already in place.
CLM Acute Care, Emergency Services and Mobile Crisis Response
For individuals in our region (the towns of Atkinson, Chester, Danville, Derry, Hampstead, Salem, Sandown, Newton, Pelham, Plaistow, and Windham) and current CLM clients, CLM Acute Care, Emergency & Mobile Crisis Response remains available 24/7 by calling 603-434-1577, option 1.
CLM’s Acute Care team continues to provide 24/7 response to those in mental health crisis including:
- Face-to-Face and Telehealth (phone and video) crisis support,
- Walk-in Crisis Support during business hours at CLM’s Derry office,
- Crisis Stabilization,
- Rapid Response/Mobile Crisis Team (MCRT) responding in-person to individuals where they are in the community for crisis intervention when needed.
NH Rapid Response Access Point
The NH Rapid Response Access Point is a statewide effort initiated by the NH Department of Health and Human Services and Bureau of Behavioral Health and implemented in collaboration with community mental centers statewide starting January 1, 2022. NH Rapid Response Access Point is available to all NH residents by call or text at 833-710-6477 or chat at www.NH988.com.
Individuals will speak with a trained and caring staff member. They can assist callers with:
- Phone support and problem solving to help resolve a behavioral health crisis.
- Over the phone support with referrals to outpatient services or inpatient referral if required.
- In-person Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) from a community mental health center that comes to the individual where they are in the community if the crisis can’t be resolved over the phone.
National 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
Beginning July 16, 2022, the 988 dialing code will connect nationwide to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Moving to an easy-to-remember, 3-digit dialing code will simplify and improve access to crisis services nationwide. While this is a valuable and immediate connection to compassionate support and resource referral, 988 is not a direct connection to your local crisis care providers.
